I weed out shoes that don't fit well or that I have completely worn out by wearing often. I only have 20 pair of shoes that are wonderful, but my lifestyle doesn't require a lot of different outfits or shoes, so I haven't accumulated that many shoes.

I buy shoes in the $200 - 300 range, (only on sale I will pay about half that.) because they tend to be kinder to my feet.
