These boots are really in two pieces. The lower piece stops at about ankle height. I have seen photos where she is wearing the boots without the upper piece. Personally, I think they are awful all the way around.

Those are amazing, I'm not saying they are my taste, but what a design. It really doesn't look like two pieces, there is no joint around the ankle, but you'd definitely need a quick escape for foot itches!
