I'm a shoe-addicted mother of three who had to get rid of all of her old size 6 1/2's after having kids. Now that I have internet connection again I've pretty much found shoe bliss. I love getting a bargain & hate to pay full price for any shoe. Love smartbargains, amazon & 6PM for their sales - helps me not to feel as guilty about how much I've gotten over the last year when I realize I've avereaged 40-70% of most of my finds. Still love to drool over at Gucci & Bluefly though.

Admittedly, I'm a little bit leary of 'going overboard' too on shoes that will spend more time in a shelf than on a foot. Now that I'm up at a solid 40 or so pairs, I have most of my basics covered and am trying to really focus on more unique shoes that still have my interest/lust after 2 or months of comparing. Ilove boots and could buy them all day, but how many brown and black flats will I really wear over the winter.? I'm hoping to find an attractive fur-lined boot that is not a stilleto, Snow and ice are hard enough to navigate around my town in Timberlakes with tread. This season is full of plaids, suiting fabrics and soft greys - Stuff I've always loved- All on beautiful heels that seemed to be out of style, or at least my local market, for the last 7 years or so. My fear is that fashion will switch again to shoes I don't really feel the love for... My hope is that should that happen, it will allow me more use of 'my stock' during the drier shopping stretches. On a positive note, even living in a tiny northwest border town, the internet has really expanded the shopping selection to things I would never have a chance to see, let alone buy without a 3-5 hour shopping trip to a major metro area.
My husband is a bit of an enabler. He knows that shoes are a bit of a playful vice for me, especially since I am working on getting rid of baby weight and can't really justify buying much in clothing as I'm slowly losing weight. I treat my feet instead and occasionally my 5'2" gets a lift and he gets to see what it's like for us to actually see 'eye-to-eye'. |

Hey galligator,
I saw that you too enjoy the fun cute boots out this season but prefer less of a "fall in the crack on the sidewalk" type of heel! Well, I found some really cute boots at Vybe Inc. - Home of Groove Footwear that include plaid fabrics on a flat heel or they also have a cute fur lined boot with a small wedge. Perfect for that little extra boost. I'm 5'1" so I can understand the joy of that little extra height yet still feeling comfortable enough to walk for awhile. Oh and they usually have buy 1 get 1 half off deals too! Anyway, I definetly know where you're coming from! I'm dreading the return of the pointy toe...Yeay for round or square toe boxes! |
