    Default I'm new here...and I'm a heterosexual male

    Hello everyone!

I'm kind of into shoes, and into women who are into shoes, ha. I guess I should start out with some background info. I'm a product designer, and I've always been into shoes, but have never really been into shoe design. In product design, when one talks of shoes, it's mainly athletic shoes, and I'm not really into that. But I do really like women's shoes, and seeing women in nice, stylish, sexy heels. My recent ex-gf was really into shoes, Laboutin, Blahnik, Miu Miu, etc, and it was really nice to finally find someone who was really into the stuff I liked, and was attracted to.

Anyway, thinking about what I like, I've decided that at least on the side from my regular work, I'd really like to get into doing some women's shoe design. One of the main points of design that I am passionate about is the fact that a design can evoke a lust, a want, something intangible, be it shoes, or cars, or even a toaster. It's that intangible emotional connection that makes us want something. From seeing my ex, and other women choose designer shoes, I find that this idea is very much at the forefront of women's shoe design.

So, as I stated, I'm trying my hand at women's shoe design, just to see where it goes. I'd really love to hear from anyone on these forums about what they love about their shoes, or about shoes in general. How does it make you feel? What features make you feel good, or sexy? The first rule of product design is to make sure you are meeting the needs of the user. What is it about your favorite pair of shoes that makes you happy? That fulfills this emotional need that you have?

Anyway, that's me. I know, it sounds way serious and stuff, but i'm also a guy who likes to see women in nice shoes, and enjoys wearing cool shoes that match my style. Feel free to reply or message me if you have anything to say. I may be out of my element here, but design isn't about feeling comfortable, it's about listening to people, and giving them something that they really want.

    Thanks,

    J
