Default Newest purchase - Cole Haan Flats with markings

My latest purchase are these Cole Haan G Series Studded Flats. I love the flats and the metal hardware, but I'm irked that Nordstroms Rack marked the outer sole with the six character tag shown in the photo. I'm hoping that the markings will rub off in time but I seriously wish some outlet / discount stores would consider alternative ways to tag shoes. Tell me, when you see shoes that have been grafittied, do you try to rub off the markings, avoid buying the shoe, or just live with them?

If they're on the sole, I don't care much--unless there's some intrinsic value to the sole (e.g., Born shoes have very nice soles, and I'm sure there are others I can't think of now). Otherwise, the markings will probably disappear with wear. At any rate, good buy--comfy, cute, practical, and good quality.

As long as it's on the sole, I don't mind. Although I agree that it's annoying. If it was a shirt, you could get a markdown on the item if there was writing on it. But the bottom of shoes? How is that acceptable?

That said, when Nordstrom first opened in the mall near my parents' house many years ago, they used to write the id number on the bottoms of all the shoes I bought, new or discounted -- it was their way of id'ing them. (Granted I was typically buying from the younger section and never bought terifically expensive shoes.)
