My girlfriends and I went the the recent Britney Spears concert in Vegas...well we had posh transportation there, to say the least.....however we didnt think about the fact that we'd need it AFTER. With 15,000 people piling out of a concert, YOU try finding a taxi.

Needless to say we had to WALK all the way from MGM to Planet Hollywood in our heels.. and me wearing those Versace platforms.

BIG mistake... 3 weeks later and my toes are still numb!... STILL!!!!!
Ouch!! Sorry to hear that..but we all know when it comes to shoes the equation is PAIN = BEAUTY! Hope your toes heal soon, honey!

I have so been in that 'afterconcert' rush. We made the mistake of parking in the garage of a casino where there was a huge headliner(we had no idea unitil the nightmare after), while we went to a smaller sexy nightclub around the corner (same place, totally different vibe, obviously) 5 inch no platform Gucci knee high boots and a full 5 blocks back to our hotel because we could not, after waiting a full hour, get out of the garage (apparently there had been a shooting ) and we decided to walk. I ultimately walked barefoot (nylons were shot after two seconds) back rather than sacrifice my heels to the vegas concrete and my feet to the torture. I could barely limp in my boots by the bottom of the garage (they had closed off all of the elevators as well, oh joy), let alone walk any further. And it was so insane there were just NO cabs. I would have paid anything, literally any price to get back to my hotel. This was a few years ago, healthy and thin and it still took me weeks to truly recover, that was quite the trip!!

Ah, Duh, and I meant to answer that if I had been smart enough to wear platforms, and I owned a number of them even back then, I probably could have walked a ton further, it's soooo much easier for me to walk in them then any other type of shoe. I was so happy when they became popular and stayed there. And it looks like a fashion that is here to stay, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

It was SO fun. I'll admit I was NOT a Britney fan, but it was very entertaining! Loved the music!

Boy, you do fun stuff... (laughing) sounds like a lot of the fun stuff I have had to endure.

I just returned from 5 days in Vegas. I was in skechers most of the time. And, even then, they were murder. I think it's just that everything in Vegas is so far apart that walking is a masochistic excercise by day 3.

I like some platforms. But, every time I wear them, I have to relearn my balance & how to walk again.
